Maraaya for Eurosong.hr: We are very pleased with such a support

After the Slovenian duo Maraaya had gathered the highest number of points in our project Razmišljamo naglas – Eurosong 2015. (Thinking out loud: Eurovision 2015), and then the highest scores from our readers, we decided to contact the Slovenes and congratulate them on this little success and ask for a short comment.

Since they are highly professional, and despite all the work they have preparing for the performance in Vienna, the duo has found a little bit of time for our readers and, with a great deal of gratitude for the support, expressed regret for one thing.

– This is a great and pleasant surprise. We are of course sad that Croatia is no longer in the contest which is, we think, a big mistake from HRT and the country, promotional-wise, to decide that, but either way we love that we got the support from your readers – said Marjetka and Raay.

Seeing that the Eurovision fans and the betting odds are more inclined to them than the last years, the Vovks confirm that it feels good going to the ESC knowing you are in the top ten, and how this gives great hope not only to them, but also to the whole Slovenia.

–  Our nation has almost lost the hope of getting high scores at the Eurovision Song Contest – we accepted the fact we are to small, but this year the pre-charts and betting are giving hope that we will at least be noticed. No matter the outcome, we are happy to get this big support.

When asked what we can expect from them in a few weeks in Vienna, Maraaya reveals that the performance will be similar to the one from the Slovenian national selection.

– Organic and simple performance. We want music to ‘come up front’. We were thinking a bit out of the box and went a bit more ‘artish’ when we have decided to put the ‘air-violinist’ on the stage and it seems it ‘works’ – people love it and it is a fresh idea that expresses the ‘show’ in minimalism. Marjetka will wear a white dress; Raay will probably stay in the same style direction as on Ema. The violinist’s dress will be a bit more ‘lighty’ and improved and I think the most important thing is – people will get a similar performance as it was on Ema but slightly improved regarding the possibilities the ESC offers – explain Marjetka and Raay.
