Franka: “The song is finally out!”

A part of the official video for the song Crazy with which Franka will represent Croatia at the 63^rd Eurovision Song Contest in Portugal in May of this year was exclusively presented tonight in HRT’s central news programme. The official video is also featured on HRT’s website. The popular singer also appeared in HRT’s third edition of Dnevnik and revealed more details about her preparations for Eurovision.

Working on the song

– The song is finally out! It’s unusual, magical, mystic, powerful and kind of crazy. I’m sure the audience will like it and that they will enjoy listening to it, just as much as we did working on it in these past three months! I am particularly proud that we sent the song to London’s Metropolis Studio for final processing. It was mixed by Paul Norris, Grammy award winner for his work on Rihanna‘s Unapologetic album, who also worked on Ed Sheeran‘s X album and songs by the Black Eyed Peas, David Guetta, Jessie J, Alicia Keys and many others. Crazy was mastered by one of the most renowned engineers in Europe, Tim Young, well-known for his work on multiplatinum albums by The Clash, Sade, Elton John, The Smiths – said Franka in tonight’s third edition of HRT’s news programme.

– When you get a great team together, when the idea for the video is attractive and interesting, it wasn’t hard for anyone, including me, to work for even 22 hours straight, take a short break and swim in the pool and shoot again the next evening! I’m sure viewers will feel the positive energy we’ve put into our work. More than 30 people were involved in the team working on the video and I want to thank everyone for their professionalism and the great job they did. Imagine what it must’ve been like to paint and stylize ten dancers so they look and dance great – added Franka.

Who was all in charge?

Music for the song Crazy was written by Branimir Mihaljević and the lyrics and music sequences by Franka. The video was directed by Sandra Mihaljević and Igor Ivanović, Igor Barberić was in charge of the choreography, Jasenka Tudor Bevanda did the styling, costumes were made by Hippy Garden, makeup is by Kristina Hošnjak, mask by BrushBar and hair by Salon Franić. The video was shot at the theatre Zorin dom in Karlovac and Double Tree by Hilton Hotel in Zagreb.

– We pondered for a long time how to convey the madness of love in a three-minute video clip. The truth is, there were many creative ideas by the whole team, but again it all fell into place somehow and again, just like the song, the video story found us – said Franka’s manager Siniša Bevanda after her guest appearance on HRT.
